Old Varndeanians Football Club, established in 1929, is one of the most successful social and community
football clubs in Brighton. As well as having the traditions of good administration and attractive winning
teams, the club is also the envy of many in the Brighton area with its home pitches and facilities at the
Falmer campus of the University of Brighton
including the latest generation 3G artificial pitch with floodlights.
The club’s success on the pitch in recent years is second to none. The club’s first team has won the Premier
Division of the Mid Sussex and Brighton Football Leagues seven times in the past eleven years including last
season.
The club is also very proud to have won six fair play awards in the past seven seasons.
This year the club has launched a new youth section and currently runs three senior teams, a vets team and a
youth (under eleven) team in the following leagues:
1st Team ~ Mid Sussex League Premier League
2nd Team ~ Mid Sussex League First Division
3rd Team ~ Mid Sussex League Fourth Division
Vets ~ Mid Sussex Veterans Competition
Youth ~ Sussex Sunday Youth Football League South Division
